How to regulate data-based collaboration?

The answer to this question depends on database law. If the data is protected by database law, then the owner of this data can issue a license to use a substantial part of the data from his database. In this way, the licensor and the licensee can work together.

If the data is not protected by database law, then the parties will have to make contractual arrangements among themselves. It is important that the parties consider who gets access to the data, for what period, at what price, who is responsible for the quality of the data and what happens when the cooperation is terminated by either party. Given that nothing about this is laid down by law, parties are free to make certain arrangements.

When it comes to a cooperation in the field of processing personal data in the sense of the GDPR, it is important to pay attention to the requirements of the GDPR for a processor and a processor agreement.
