How to obtain a database right?

For a database right, the law sets out a few requirements one must meet. A database is defined as:

  • A collection of works, data or other independent elements
  • That are arranged systematically or methodically and are separately consultable
  • In which there is a substantial investment, qualitatively or quantitatively, for the acquisition, verification or presentation of the contents.

It is therefore important that an investment has been made in creating the database and that it is not simply a by-product of another project.
