Timeline AI Act
Explanation
In the coming period, the European Commission (via the AIOffice) will provide guidelines on parts of the AI Act. For example, how the definition of AI should be applied in practice. Or what use cases are of prohibited / high-risk AI systems.
AI compliance
Who needs to do what when to be compliant?
- map out whether and what AI systems you use (sometimes they are components of systems that you sell/use: e.g. elevators, software, toys, machines.
- is it AI as defined in the AI Act
- if so, in which risk category does this AI system fall
- does that AI system comply with the obligations of the AI Act
- when you offer AI applications, whether or not built into a product/service, you need to train your staff.
- if you are a director/supervisor of an organization, you could be personally liable if your organization does not take the measures to be compliant in time.
- if you buy products/services that may include AI, adjust your purchase agreement accordingly.
